Description

Remuneration: $800 to $1000 per hour. Sign-on bonus available

biio. is an integrated multidisciplinary clinical service providing structured diagnostic assessment for patients with hereditary connective tissue disorders, including hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD).

We are seeking Rheumatologists to work as Specialist Diagnostic Consultants within a defined diagnostic pathway. This role focuses exclusively on diagnostic assessment and clinical reasoning, supported by comprehensive pre-consultation workup.

Prior to rheumatology review, patients complete validated screening tools, specialist physiotherapy assessment, relevant pathology screening, red flags checklists, and genetic testing where indicated, with all information available in a single integrated digital workspace.

You’ll complete 1:1 consultations (30–60 minutes), diagnostic synthesis, confirmation or exclusion of hEDS/HSD and relevant differentials, and a concise diagnostic summary. This is a diagnostic role only; ongoing management is undertaken by an established multidisciplinary team, with no expectation of longitudinal care unless you personally choose to dive deeper.

Most uniquely, you will change lives here. Patients with hEDS face 15 year diagnostic delays in Australia, resulting in missed opportunities for early intervention and effective multidisciplinary care. Your role changes this narrative and reintroduces hope.

Engagement is via contractor agreement, with highly flexible sessional commitment and competitive remuneration reflecting the specialist nature of the work.
