The Northern Hospital is situated in northern metropolitan Melbourne in the suburb of Epping and is on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We provide a broad range of rheumatological care to patients in the northern suburbs. We don’t have an inpatient bed-card, but provide inpatient consults and also have a busy outpatient service.
Our trainees see the full spectrum of rheumatic diseases from new and established diagnoses of rheumatoid arthritis through to complex vasculitis, complex connective tissue diseases and myositis.
At Northern Hospital our trainees have personalised supervision, theoretical and practical teaching, and also the opportunity for our trainees to teach medical students and junior doctors.
We also have opportunities for research within the department mostly around audit and quality improvement projects.
