Biologics Prescriber Helper

One of our ARA Members, Chris McMaster has developed the PBS Biologics Prescriber Helper an online tool to streamline the process of identifying PBS codes when prescribing biologics, and he has generously offered to share it with the ARA community to assist fellow members.

This user-friendly web-based tool allows you to select various parameters such as drug, band, formulation, indication and treatment phase, and generates the relevant PBS code along with accompanying PBS details (including streamlined code and an indication of whether approval can be obtained using the online PRODA form).

The tool automatically updates every month to obtain the latest PBS schedule data.


Item/streamline code cheat sheets

The ARA have compiled some item code cheet sheets and resources on how to navigate the Online PBS Authorities System

Patients with RA are now eligible for a prescription via a streamlined authority code. For 2nd or subsequent continuing RA prescriptions, streamlined authority codes can be found in the table below:
